Is That Really Yulhee? Choi Min-hwan’s Divorce Turns Messy as She Loses Weight and Focuses on Acting
On February 7, Yulhee‘s YouTube channel Yulhee’s House uploaded a video titled “Achieving My Lowest Weight Ever – My New Year’s Resolution: Healthy Maintenance.”
In the video, Yulhee revealed that she had recently started filming a web drama, marking her new challenge as an actress. She shared, “I’ve been so busy with filming that I haven’t had time to take care of my house,” before hastily tidying up and reviewing her script.
She also drew attention when she revealed, “Actually, my agency CEO gave me a directive. They told me it would be good if I lost 2-3kg more, so I’m trying to lose that weight. Because of that, there’s not much I can eat these days.” Despite her already noticeably slim face, she admitted that she was working on losing even more weight.
For her diet, Yulhee took her manager’s recommendation and ate poke before returning to script practice and preparing for filming. She confessed, “I was really nervous and felt pressured about playing the female lead. There are so many lines, I was worried if I could memorize them all,” but added, “However, being on set is so fun, and I’ve come to understand the charm of acting.”
Yulhee also promoted a health supplement she frequently takes while filming, introducing it to her subscribers. She shared that she had also gifted the product to her parents, explaining, “Both of my parents are over 50 now, so I worry about them a lot. My father has a physically demanding job, so he’s been paying more attention to his health lately. During Christmas, I took my kids to my parents’ house to give them this product.”
Yulhee and Choi Min-hwan got married in 2018 and had three children. However, in December 2023, after five years of marriage, they announced their divorce. While Choi Min-hwan initially gained custody of all three children, Yulhee later revealed recordings on her personal channel that allegedly showed Minhwan visiting adult entertainment establishments. She subsequently filed lawsuits against him for child custody, alimony, and property division, reportedly demanding 100 million won in alimony and 1 billion won in asset division.
In response, Choi Min-hwan expressed frustration over the allegations on his fan cafe. In an interview on January 13, he countered Yulhee’s claims, saying, “Yulhee was not a devoted mother. She would go out at night and sleep all day.” He further accused her of having an irregular lifestyle, reportedly sleeping excessively for 18-20 hours a day and frequently leaving home after arguments, claiming that she had run away more than 20 times in their five-year marriage.
